Characteristics
A small, lively dog with long legs, active and alert, with a tendency to be quite vocal. This smart breed with a desire to please can be very attached to its family, but rather aloof towards strangers.
Small breed with turbulent history
Bred from the English Toy Terrier in the 18th century, being popular with the Russian aristocracy for many years, almost wiped out in the 1920s with the rise of communism and only accepted on a definitive basis by the FCI in 2017.
